Edo State has recorded 104 new cases of the novel Coronavirus on Sunday, as Nigeria confirmed 556 new infections.
Announcing the nation’s COVID-19 update Sunday night, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, says the 556 new infections were recorded from 18 states of the federation.
The health agency revealed that death toll from the dreaded disease is nearing 800 with 789 fatalities since the outbreak of the infection in the country.
Meanwhile a total of 15105 infected persons have been discharged across the 36 states of the federation.
With Edo state leading with 104 new infections of the 556 cases, Lagos and FCT were the closest to it, with 97 and 70 cases respectively.
While Benue has 66, Oyo-61, Kaduna-38, Plateau-28, Osun-19, Akwa Ibom-14, Rivers, Katsina and Ondo recorded same number of infections which was 13.
Then Ogun has 6, Kano-5, Nasarawa- 4, Gombe-2, Ekiti-2 and Borno -1
